Born - Sheffield, England 1978
Dan Crossland is a UK based artist and sculptor.
He studied painting and sculpture at Scotland Art School as well as further study in anatomy and the
fundamentals of classical art, which allowed him to explore his interest in the human form and refine his
techniques. This would later go on to inform the development of his own aesthetic.
Dan’s work is rendered in a distinct style that draws on a variety of themes from surrealism, folklore, mythology and the
supernatural that sensitively draws inspiration from the great figurative sculptures of the 19th century while bringing a
stark modernity to the work through abstraction of the forms balancing old and new.
Dan’s work has been exhibited and collected across the globe.
Dan currently teaches classical sculpture under his Crossland Atelier and his flagship Artistic Anatomy course with Mold3D
